Unified communications services vendor 8x8 has reported a stellar second quarter, in terms of sales.
For the three months ended September 30, 2022, total revenue increased 24% year-over-year to $187.4m. Service revenue increased 25% year-over-year to $178.6m.
But there was a GAAP operating loss of $25m, which was at least down from the loss of $37.2m in the second quarter last year.
"Our second quarter results reflected our increased emphasis on profitability and cash flow generation. Non-GAAP gross margin was above 70% and non-GAAP operating profit and operating cash flow exceeded our expectations," maintained Dave Sipes, 8x8 chief executive officer.
The GAAP gross margin was 67%, compared to 61% last time. GAAP service revenue gross margin was 71%, compared to 67% previously.
The vendor released an 8x8 phone app for Microsoft Teams in the quarter, providing customers with additional options for enabling “cost-effective” PSTN calling in Teams.
