Acronis updates partner programme

Cloud data management and security vendor Acronis has updated its partner programme to help the channel mitigate the effects of the ongoing pandemic. The enhanced 2020 Acronis #CyberFit Partner Program will help support over 50,000 partners and technology industry alliances, with new tools, extra marketing funds and new financing options, it says.

The company says it has tailored the programme to account for more end customer staff working from home as well as new and increased cyberthreats as a result. It says it is therefore providing partners with “superior technology and tools” that address the evolving threats. To help partners support secure, remote working environments, the vendor is offering "enterprise-grade" file sync and share technology at no additional cost to customers.

Acronis has also updated its training and certification programmes to “build and reinforce” cyber protection sales and technical competencies, so “partners are enabled to protect customers better while keeping costs down”, it says. Tweaks have also been made to financing. The company said: “As many small businesses in our industry struggle during the coronavirus outbreak, Acronis is taking action to support our partners and customers.”

At the end of last year, Acronis signed a multi-year strategic global distribution agreement with Ingram Micro. The relationship is designed to make Acronis cyber protection solutions more easily accessible to organisations through the channel. Last year, it also announced a $10m investment to help traditional resellers transition into service providers as part of its global plans to enhance its channel reach into recurring revenue streams. The company currently has around 6,000 active managed service providers for its products.
