Pan-European supplier EET Group has acquired Oprema, a growing distributor of CCTV, access control, intrusion, fire and networking products in the UK, to further accelerate growth in its surveillance and security unit.
Oprema, founded in 2010 and located in Cardiff, Wales, posted a 30% increase in sales to almost £24m in 2020, and employs 50 staff. “Oprema will add a broad portfolio of strong brands and significantly increase our position in the UK - the largest surveillance and security market in Europe and the 6th largest in the world,” said EET.
As well as products, Oprema offers pre-configuration and on-site commissioning among its services. EET Group CEO Søren Drewsen (pictured) said: “The combined Oprema and EET surveillance and security activities in the UK creates a serious player in an important and fast-growing market.
“Oprema has demonstrated solid, profitable growth for several years, and with this acquisition surveillance and security becomes the biggest segment in the EET Group, accounting for more than 20% of total sales.”
Oprema is EET's 26th acquisition since 2015 and the second in 2021. Oprema will continue to operate under its current brand.
