Nuvias has struck a distribution deal with Bitdefender for the DACH region, after previously relying on Symantec to provide traditional enterprise cybersecurity capabilities in its security portfolio offering to the channel.
The enterprise business of Symantec was acquired by Broadcom this August for $10.7bn and there is speculation that it instead wants to sell Symantec's software direct to big customers or through its own channels, cutting out large swathes of existing channels.
Nuvias resellers now have full access to Bitdefender's portfolio of enterprise solutions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The GravityZone suite combines over thirty layers of protection in a single endpoint security agent and under one unified management platform.
The latest product, Network Traffic Security Analytics – otherwise known as Bitdefender NTSA - will also be part of the offering. NTSA is designed to enable companies to forensically detect and prevent illegitimate traffic and data movement that traditional security solutions would not identify.

"The offering fits in well with our existing portfolio of IT security solutions, providing our resellers with more options to secure endpoints and quickly detect complex cyber-attacks."

“For Nuvias resellers, this will create an offer that will enable their customers to be more efficient in security and to score points with customers in the face of today's threats.”
Broadcom intends combining the capabilities of the Symantec technology with its data centre chips and the business service systems supplied by CA Technologies, which it acquired last year.
The company said at the time of the acquisition: “Deploying Symantec's enterprise security suite through Broadcom's channels will strengthen its differentiated portfolio license agreement (PLA) strategy of offering significant overall savings to customers, while creating a predictable, recurring revenue stream for Broadcom that will drive returns for shareholders.”
