Tech Data aims to boost Cisco security and collaboration partners

Tech Data is launching two new Cisco Boost Communities to improve support for partners selling Cisco solutions around collaboration and security.

The move will “bring partners together to share experiences and ideas, and gain insights and knowledge from each other in how to grow their sales”, said Tech Data.

A Boost Community for Cisco data centre solutions was launched last autumn by the distributor. Tony Nevill (pictured), director for Cisco business at Tech Data UK and Ireland, said: “The goal with the Boost Communities is to bring together Cisco partners and enable them to feed off and learn from each other.

“It’s worked well with data centre solutions and we expect the same kind of positive engagement and activity with security and collaboration, both of which are fast-moving and rapidly growing areas of business for Cisco partners.”

There will be a range of activities in which the members of the new communities can get involved, including regular online webinars and workshops and an online forum. Resellers can also sign up for Tech Data’s Cisco Momentum programme to take advantage of the various tools and resources it offers to Cisco partners, including the 1Source rapid quoting platform.

Earlier this month, Tech Data extended technical and business development support for Symantec security resellers, adding dedicated pre-sales, post-sales technical, business development and account management staff to support the channel.
