I Squared Capital-backed nLighten has expanded its UK presence by acquiring Proximity Data Centres.
The move increases nLighten's data centre count to 26 and brings its workforce to 130.
Harro Beusker, co-founder and CEO of nLighten said: “The acquisition of Proximity brings us a big step closer to our goal of creating the leading pan-European edge data center platform.”
The deal aligns with nLighten’s sustainability goals, as Proximity's facilities are fully powered by renewable energy.
John Hall, Managing Director Colocation at Proximity., added: “Being part of the nLighten group of data centers will accelerate the expansion of our portfolio of new products and services tailored for the edge computing market.”
