Tech Data unit Global Computing Components (GCC) has extended its agreement with Seagate to include Exos and Nytro enterprise storage solutions in Europe.
The distribution agreement enables systems integrators, OEMs and value-added resellers to access Seagate’s Nytro enterprise SSDs and flash solutions for “high-speed business responsiveness, data availability and reduced power consumption”, said Tech Data. While the Exos range of enterprise hard drives brings “reliability, capacity and security” for data centre workloads.

Tech Data’s GCC team will provide technical expertise and consultative sales support for partners looking to design Seagate Exos and Nytro Systems into their integrated data centre solutions for the channel.

Last week, Tech Data saw a 3% slump in annual net sales for the first quarter ended 30 April, as it moved to complete its previously announced $5.4bn acquisition by Apollo Global Management.
Total sales were $8.2bn, with sales up 4% in the US to $3.9bn, while revenue was 8% down in Europe to $4bn. But the Europe business showed a big jump in operating profits – up 26% to $45.9m – while the US business slumped 27% to $49.8m. The total group operating profit was down 12% to $86.1m.
